Aquaparks -
There are two aquaparks within 90
minutes drive of the house. Onde Blu at Tortoreto to the North and
Aqualand at Vasto to the South.
Beaches - The
sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast are 40/45 minutes drive away at
Pescara, Montisilvano, and Pineto.
Mountains -
For walkers and fans of great scenery the
mountain ranges of Gran Sasso and Majella are both within 60 minutes
drive.
Zoo -
There is a small Zoo set in the National
Park area near Civitella Casanova about 20 minutes drive away.
Golf -
There is an excellent golf course at
Miglianico which is approximately 60 minutes drive away. Bookings and
hosting can be arranged.
Go Karting -
An outdoor go karting track is available
near Capelle Sul Tavo about 30 minutes drive away.
Wine Tour -
Abruzzo
is home of the Montepulciano d'
Abruzzo and Trebbiano wines. A tour of a local vineyard can be
arranged
Swimming Pools -
Public swimming pools are available in
Penne (Sports Centre) and also in Pescara
Horse Riding -
The Gran Sasso National Park has one of
Europe's longest bridleways. There are various equestrian centres
available. The nearest is 20 minutes from the house
Markets -
Most of the local towns hold market days,
selling everything from fruit and vegetables, household items to
clothing.
Skiing -
Passo Lanciano-Majelletta is about 60
minutes from the house. Other ski resorts within a 2 hour drive
include Prata di Tivo, Campo Imperatore and Roccaraso.
World Wildlife Fund -
Penne is home to the WWF Abruzzo
regional office. The visitor's centre is just 10 minutes walk from the
house.
